Description
We all pray . . . some. We pray to stay sober, centered, or solvent. When the lump is deemed malignant. When the money runs out. When the marriage is falling apart. But wouldn’t we like to pray . . . more? Better? Stronger? With more fire, faith, and fervency?
In this four-session video-based study, best-selling author Max Lucado reveals his struggles with prayer and how he discovered that it is not a privilege for the pious or the art of a chosen few but a simple tool everyone has been given to have a conversation with God. He shows you how to let go of uncertainties about prayer, trust that God hears you, and embrace a prayer life that brings peace and rest.
Join Max Lucado on a journey to the very heart of biblical prayer and the power unleashed with five simple sentences: “Father, you are good. I need help. They need help. Thank you. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
This study guide with DVD includes a DVD with four video sessions from Max Lucado and a study guide with discussion questions, video notes, and in-between studies.

This was used in a small group with mixed ages. Everyone loved Max Lucado’s easy going dialog and how this study took prayer down to a basic and intimate level. Seasoned prayer warriors found the study a refreshing change and a nice reminder of the intimacy we share with God when we communicate with him. Newer Christians who didn’t feel like they were praying “correctly” were inspired and experienced a much deeper prayer time. We needed a shorter study to fill in a time block and this 4 session study was wonderful. This was a great study for new comers and old timers in Christ. Thanks Max for a great study.

I cannot get enough of watching and reading Max’s Before Amen, because there is a lot of people who struggle in Prayer. I guess I am one of those wimps in praying, but his lessons teaches me the real meaning of prayer. I try to share it with everyone.

love this study. I will be presenting it in our Bible study group next month. I have followed this myself and have grown in my relationship with the Lord greatly.
Don –
In Before Amen, Mr. Lucado espouses that prayer is a communication between a Parent and child and does a wonderful job of communicating that position.

The study guide and DVD make it so easy to use this book as a Bible Study. Max has a warm way of reaching out and touching you with his words spoken from his own mouth!

Max Lucado is one of my favorite spiritual writers because he makes sense, utilizing simple, and effective methods to get his point across.
The best part of this study is that it takes away the fear of prayer and makes it so simple that you’ll do it more often. I highly recommend this to anyone who struggles with making prayer more consistent in their lives.
