Description
It’s crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency isn’t working harder at a list of do’s and don’ts—it’s falling in love with God.
The Crazy Love Study Resource helps you and your small group to dive deeper into God’s love. A companion to the best-selling Crazy Love book, by pastor Francis Chan, this 10-week study follows a day-in-the-life of Francis in the form of ten, 10-minute segments that correspond to each chapter of Crazy Love. These thought-provoking teachings are designed spark discussion, interaction, and practical application of the Crazy Love message with small groups, churches, youth groups, and individuals.
DVD includes:
- Ten teaching segments with questions for small group discussion.
- Printable Small Group Study Guide.
- Behind-the-scenes footage and outtakes

I got the book and the DVD and the small group study guide. You need this DVD because it breaks up the questions, which are really deep and stimulating. So the DVD provides a different medium to take it in. Francis Chan is very natural, likable and it stimulates fantastic discussions.

Francis Chan is very easy to understand. He keeps things clear and simple but thought provoking. He backs what he say in with scripture. The thing I like the most is he has a good balance of “God’s Grace” and the biblical description of a Christian. He is someone that you want to listen too and seems very transparent in his writings as well as his DVD. We used the DVD and the book. We encouraged folks to do the workbook on their own if they wanted to go deeper. I found trying to use the workbook and the book to confusing for a 1 hour bible study. We worked off the DVD question mainly and read some of the key scripture he mentions on the DVD as well as the book.

I was so disappointed when I received this DVD and workbook. I teach an older Bible Study group, and I can see that it is not something I can use with them. Mr. Chan doesn’t teach from the Bible on the DVD, he simply talks to the camera. I’m sure he is a very Christian man, but I wanted a Bible Study, not a conversation about his feelings. I buy the Bible Studies for our group, and it upsets me when I pay money for something I can’t use. I usually look at the reviews for a product, and this one had many good reviews. I’m wondering if the author of a product has all of his friends write good reviews for him.

This DVD is separated into 10 sections or chapters. In each section he addresses an aspect of the Christian walk and discusses it. All are teachings aligned with the book. He then instructs at the end with suggestions on things you can talk about in your groups.
The structure of it is essentially a day in the life with pastor Francis. Its starts out with his getting up in the morning, progresses through him going to work at the church that he used to pastor, stopping by at the grocery store and finally going home to be with his family. In each section there is discussion relevant to the book.
I actually find this MUCH MUCH easier to follow than the book, and while the book is simple, this DVD helps to reinforce the concepts.
If you are wondering exactly what the material is like, its available to view on You Tube, but this DVD is well worth the money spent.
Although I know I can watch it on You Tube, I am purchasing a copy to play on my mini DVD player when I cannot be on my computer… this teaching/exhortation is that important.
